As Christmas soon approaches that only means one thing, it's Christmas market season! We thought we would share our favourite Christmas markets based in North Wales, the north of England and a few that are a bit further afield. Keep reading for more details on the Christmas makers that make the perfect day out for all the family this festive season!

 Llandudno Christmas Extravaganza

Thursday 17th November – Sunday 20th November

The Llandudno Christmas Extravaganza takes place annually in Trinity Square & Madoc Street, Llandudno, Conwy. The event consists of local entertainers, food and drink stalls, homemade gifts, and a fairground. It is not one to be missed!

Conwy Winterfest

Saturday 11th December

Conwy Medieval Christmas Torch Lit Parade is a yearly event that is held in the town of Conwy. The event is organised by local business owners in the town of Conwy. With street entertainers, musicians, choirs, Clerical Error Black Face Morris Dancers, sword fighting on Lancaster Square, hot chestnuts and much more.

Portmeirion Christmas food & craft fair

December 2nd – 4th December

The Food & Craft Festival at Portmeirion is back and will take place from December 2-4, 2022. The festival features artisan stalls exhibiting the best Welsh produce. In addition to local produce and crafts, there is a full programme of entertainment to suit everybody's taste.

 Manchester Christmas Markets

Thursday 10 November - Thursday 22 December

Nicknamed the “Capital of Christmas’, Manchester Christmas Markets are a firm favourite across the UK and the world! Featuring over 220 stalls across nine sites throughout the city centre, this year's Christmas Markets are set to bring some much-needed festive cheer to the city's streets and squares in the run-up to Christmas. As well as the markets there is also a family friendly ice rink and the beautiful Christmas tree.

Chester Christmas Markets

18th November to 21st December 2022

The Chester Christmas markets are situated outside the town hall and feature a range of over 70 stalls selling gifts, arts and crafts, and local small businesses. Why not warm up with a mulled wine or Baileys hot chocolate whilst enjoying the marvellous Christmas tree! Visitors can also walk around the cathedral grounds which are decorated beautifully.

Liverpool Christmas Markets

12th November until 23rd December

 Located at St George's Plateau and William Brown Street, the Liverpool Christmas markets are a hugely popular event each year. With stalls selling a wide range of Christmas gifts, decorations, art, crafts, and jewellery you are guaranteed to find all the Christmas presents you need. Liverpool markets go all out when it comes to providing guests with a wide range of beverages! The range of bars including but not limited to the tipi bar, ski bar, windmill bar and the new Bavarian bar. The markets are fun for all the family including the big wheel, snow slide and Santa Land rides.

York Christmas Market

17th November to 23rd December

This year marks the 30th year of St Nicholas Fair, which has been filling York’s streets during the festive period since 1992. 70 alpine chalets will line the streets creating a festive wonderland with an array of local produce and artisan gifts on offer from local traders.

Knutsford Christmas Market

3rd and 4th December 2022

Knutsford Christmas Market is a two-day festive street market situated in the market town of Knutsford. Each year the markets feature over 120 traders selling food, drinks, crafts, and gifts in the area. Marvel in the festive magic and visit Santa’s Grotto and visit the thrilling funfair on Princess Street.

 Birmingham German Christmas Market

Thursday 3rd November to Friday 23rd December

 Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is a firm favourite for visitors all over the UK and Europe. The largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market offers a large range of traditional good and gifts and a selection of tempting food and drink.
